Data Recovery

A vendor in the software services industry sustained the loss of 4 raid arrays in a mission critical server.

Lack of a suitable backup, and old technology on an obsolete and failed controller complicated matters.

Catzen Forensic imaged each element of each raid set and despite some failed array set elements and failed file systems was able to rebuild all of the RAID 5 arrays for 100% recovery.
Short for Redundant Array of Independent (or Inexpensive) Disks, a category of disk drives that employ two or more drives in combination for fault tolerance and performance.
RAID allows you to store the same data redundantly (in multiple places) in a balanced way to improve overall performance.
A device that controls the transfer of data from a computer to a peripheral device and vice versa. For example, disk drives, display screens, keyboards, and printers all require controllers.

Data Discovery/Data Preservation

A class action lawsuit involving a billion dollar corporate merger required data presevation and extraction of a board member's computer and other external media.

The extracted data was preseved under seal in the event that further evidence would be required for discovery.
